We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the MSEDA Dressage
at the Park and GAIG/USDF Region 2 Championships. We hope that you will take advantage of participating in the
events that have been carefully planned for your enjoyment. When you arrive you will be given a map of
the Kentucky Horse Park and a listing of where all events will occur. ALL
EVENTS WILL TAKE PLACE –RAIN OR SHINE.!!!!
Competitor’s Shuttle – Because the Kentucky Horse Park is a large show and tourist facility, we will be providing a competitor’s shuttle between competition arenas and barns during the operating hours of the horse show (designated as a half and hour before the first ride of the day to an hour after the last ride). The shuttle route will be noted on your park map.
Competitor’s Services/Hospitality/Public Relations – There will be a manned competitor’s hospitality and Public Relations booth in operation throughout the show. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, someone will be there to help you during the operating hours of the horseshow. Information will be available on the Horse Park and Lexington. Continental Breakfast will be served all mornings of the horseshow in this area. For your convenience, the following services will be available at the show or you can make arrangements before you arrive at the show.

Tourist Events at the Kentucky Horse Park
The Kentucky Horse Park is a tourist destination and
operates its own schedule of events including the Parade of Breeds, Hall of
Champions exhibition, the Museum of the Horse, and the Horse Park movie “Thou
Shalt Fly Without Wings”, to name a few.
Tourists are encouraged to stroll around the Park including through the
stable areas at their leisure. Please
be aware that tourists may ask you questions or will watch you prepare for your
rides.
The Horse Park management has reduced the price of
park admission for our competitors. Information on Park Events
can be obtained at the show Competitor’s Hospitality/Public Relations booth or
the Guest Services Counter at the Visitor’s Information Center. (In case of
rain remember that these events are inside, comfortable and enjoyable.)
In addition to our own planned events, there is a full service restaurant on the Horse Park grounds open all day during the show along with numerous food kiosks located conveniently throughout the grounds. In case of rain, remember that the restaurant is also a comfortable and dry place to eat. You will be able to locate these on the Horse Park map that you will receive upon your arrival.

This is a not to be missed event! Enjoy a casual evening of dinner, dancing and touring the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park privately hosted by the Special Events Departments Coordinator of the Park. The evening includes:
A Special Welcome to the Park- Receive your official souvenir bandanna to set the mood for your casual evening of Kentucky
country fun. Learn about the Park’s history and visit the burial
site of legendary Man O’War.
A Hayride – When did you do this last? A real old-fashioned treat!
A Visit to the International Museum of the Horse – Discover 58 million years of equine history in a self-guided tour to explore the development
of the relationship between man and the horse.
A Taste of the Bluegrass- After all the touring its Chow Time!
Real Kentucky Fare – Kentucky Style Burgoo and Fried Chicken,
pulled Barbecued Pork, Cornbread and rolls,
shredded Farmer’s Slaw, Green Beans,
pecan pie, Iced tea and coffee. YUMMY!
Entertainment! - Professional Cloggers and square dancers show
guests just how easy it is to join in the fun. It’s a
genuine, foot-stompin, good “ole” time. Get ready
for dancin’!
Saturday, September 6th, 2003, 1pm -
6:00pm - Golf Outing
Yes! There is something for your spouse to do! Enjoy a relaxing
day at one of Lexington’s most beautiful 18 Hole golf courses.
It’s in close proximity of the Horse Park off of I- 75. The cost for
the afternoon is $55.00 which includes the green fee and golf cart.
(OOPS! Now, this one won’t happen in the rain – guaranteed!)
5:30 -
7:30pm – Competitor’s Party
During the party, members of the Ground Jury will stroll through the barn and judge the “Best Tack Room”. So be ready – the prizes for the best theme, the most luxurious, the funniest - will be worth the effort! Besides it’ll be lots of fun!!!!
Demonstrations
throughout the Show!
Every day there will be a noon time demonstration during lunch break in the main arenas for your enjoyment! They will include:
Denny and “Spanky”- This dynamic duo will demonstrate
the jobs of the AQHA Ranch and Versatility Horse. “Spanky”
is a bonefide and well-known champion in those divisions.
Trooper Roy N. Foster – Mounted Police demonstration. Watch out criminals! Officer Foster will demonstrate mounted police techniques.
Central Kentucky Riding for the Handicapped – CKRFH will give a demonstration of their valuable and important work with horses helping special kids.
Mustang Troop – The world famous troop of inner city youths and their horses that have performed quadrilles and parades for President’s and Kings.
~Volunteers Are Always Appreciated !!~
There
will be a daily
prize drawing for volunteers that have
given at least four hours/ day of their time to help at the horseshow. At the
end of the horseshow, all eligible volunteers can participate in a grand
prize drawing. Each volunteer will be
given a horseshow shirt, continental breakfast (if working at that time) and
will have the opportunity to join in all free social occasions at the
horseshow.
Because this is such a large undertaking, we would
appreciate your volunteering during the show if you have the opportunity – just
call ahead of time to the contacts below or contact the show secretary when you
arrive and can plan around your ride times.
If you know of someone who would like to work at the horseshow who does
not live in the Lexington area, please have them contact us and we will arrange
a local place for them to stay.

Premier Dressage Arenas will be providing the Championship arenas and letter
boxes at the Horseshow. These arenas
will be available for purchase for a reduced amount following the show on
Sunday evening, Sept. 7th, 2003.
